John has been with us since June 2017 and he has over 20 years-experience in the Hospitality Industry before joining us, utilising his service experience in delivering optimum customer relations. John’s experience in frontline operations in Pubs, Restaurants and Hotels over the years allows him to see things through our customers’ eyes, understanding what is important to them in being able to offer a quality product to their own customers in turn and be proud of what they serve. With a Higher National Diploma and a University Advanced Diploma in Licensed Retail Management under his belt, coupled with simply ‘walking-the-walk’ over the last two decades and more, gives John his confidence and ability to advise and support our customers in a friendly and professional way.
Mark is the co-founder and Managing Director of Solent Butchers who has decades of knowledge within the industry. With his brother, Simon, he has built the Company from humble beginnings as a small Butcher’s Shop owned by their father in 1984 to its current status as a leading Catering Butcher. Mark believes that there is no reason why his Company cannot still give a personal service to its customers and clients as if Solent Butchers was still a small High Street butcher’s shop over 3 decades ago and he encourages his team to deliver just that.
As co-founder with his brother Mark, Simon directs the production areas of the Company. A trained butcher, Simon has his finger on the pulse at all times to ensure that the standards and quality of the butchery is maintained and he develops his team of butchers to the highest standard. Driven by family-values, like Mark, Simon is passionate about running the business with a family-feel. Simon’s knowledge of Butchery skills has been developed over the last 30 years and he transfers these skills to his team of Master Butchers.
Joining Solent Butchers in 1999, Janice has been instrumental in developing the Company to where it is now. She manages the administrative operations of Solent Butchers and her wealth of knowledge is second-to-none. By developing her team, she promotes the family aspect that is at the heart of the Company’s ideals and works tirelessly to ensure that the operation runs smoothly for the benefit of our clients. Working closely with the Directors, Janice maintains and develops the operational systems to keep Solent Butchers at the forefront of an ever-changing industry.
Helen has been with Solent Butchers since 2002 hailing from a similar role in a fine foods company over 16 years ago. She is passionate about delivering optimum service to all her clients and is a friendly, bubbly person. She has a Hospitality and Catering Industry background; understanding the challenges and ordeals encountered by her clients. She is able to be sympathetic to their needs and deal with any problems quickly and professionally. Helen has developed her extensive knowledge and experience from being hands-on and just ‘getting on with it’ doing whatever needs to be done to get the job done – nothing is too much trouble.
Adam joined Solent Butchers in 2009 and has worked his way through most areas of the Company during this time to his current role. This has given him the insight of challenges faced by the different parts of the Company. Adam’s background is that of a Chef and he is responsible for overseeing the ingredient and allergen aspects of production. In addition to Adam’s long list of professional qualifications, he maintains the Company’s Quality Manual, delivers team training and is in charge of new product development. He also maintains and manages the Company standards for BRC and Red Tractor, in additional to due diligence and food safety. Adam has a Management Level in Food Safety and HACCP; he is the Company’s internal auditor and co-ordination auditor for external audits by industry governing bodies such as the FSA.
